Hello everyone, I am a 28 year old mother of three beautiful little girls and one amazing husband. I am now at my highest weight ever, 261. I have always been "thick", but I gained most of my weight through my pregnancies. I never lost weight from one before having another one. Now I am ready to shed this weight. I want to be healthier not only for me, but for my girls. I want them to have a healthy mom that can live a long and FUN life. It is hard for me to even get out and play ball and stuff with them now, which is quite depressing, but I am glad that it has given me the drive to change. I also wouldn't mind the benefit of once again looking hot for my husband, although he tells me all the time I am hot and he loves me for who I am. But, he is also being very supportive in my weight loss efforts. I have tried many things before, including Atkins, but always end up giving up. I lost 50lbs in 2 months on Atkins before, and this time I am going to stick with it. No "hoping" to stick with it, I am going to. I am hoping to lose at even faster rate this time because I have joined a gym. I didn't even exercise before and the weight came off, so I am hoping this leads to an extra benefit on my side. Plus, I want the stamina to be able to do the things I want to do. I have a lot to lose, but I am going to try to stick to a small goal at time to break it up. My first goal is to lose 50lbs by August 2nd, which is my anniversary. I will be starting my diet on Thursday (5/6/10). My middle daughter has a field trip to a Mexican Resteraunt tomorrow so it is my last "Hoorah". I have started working out already though, and even though it is extremely tough at my weight, I am starting to get excited about the two days at the gym I have gotten in so far! I know I can do this, and I will do this!

Re: Hello....
Welcome to ADBB!
Wow ... more than 25 pounds a month? That's ambitious. Having goals like that can be "self defeating". Keep in mind that women lose at the statistical rate of 1/2 to 1 pound per week.
I found it better to accept the rate of loss that my body had ... not what I wanted!
And ... the slower you lose, the more likely you are to keep it off!J.
