A little about me: I’m 42 yrs old 5ft 8in 240lbs about a 3 years ago I went in for a check up, was told I have high triglycerides my Doctor told me it would be a good idea to go on a low carb diet well I looked into doing the South Beach diet but just couldn’t get into it looked like it was going to cost to much.
Well a few months went by and my Husband hard a heart attack and had to have a stint put in. We decided it was time to take another look at our lives and what we where putting in are body’s. We started to read labels and eat low fat high fiber foods well his weight went down and mine went up, I just gave up at that point I still tried to keep an eye on what I was eating just not to closely.
About a year ago the store that I was working in had to close because of the recession and my insurance was going to be running out so back to the doctors I went to get another check up. My triglycerides where still up and now I had a fatty liver, that kind of scared me back to the high fiber and low fat way of eating. I have lost 20 lbs in the last year and have stalled for the last 6 month. I decide it was time to do something different I needed a change, that’s when I remembered what my 1st Doctor told me all those years before to get on a low carb diet so here I am taking the Doctors advice… If all I have read is true then my triglyceride numbers should go down and my liver function will return to normal… the part that suck’s is I no longer have health insurance to keep track of the number’s falling. I wonder if my expiations are a little to high for this here low carb new life : ) well I’m only on day 2 of induction with lots of high hopes.
