  • Hey there!

I am back! I'm three days into induction after considering gastric bypass. I made a deal with myself, the second I come off this diet, I'm calling a surgeon and I'm so scared of the surgery I'm hoping it will keep me on the diet.

I weighed 437 Two mondays ago, started atkins on this past monday and am already down to 424??? I'm not going to argue although I know I was a water-retaining fool last week LOL. My goal is 170 so I have quite a ways to go.

I actually frequented this board about a year ago when I was trying to lose, but gave up. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

i have found this board to be very helpful and encouraging

set alot of mini goals and that way the final goal does not seem so far off and celebrate(not with food)lol- as you reach each and every goal and soon you will reach your final goal
      :wave

Thanks MOG and ztachick!! I will definitely come by the CC and check in! I'm setting 25lb goals. My goals through the end of this year are:
        1st 25 lbs by 6/6/05
        2nd 25 lbs by 8/1/05
        3rd 25 lbs by 10/10/05
        4th 25 lbs (100 lbs total) by 12/31/05

12/31 is actually my anniversary as well so I have an added incentive to have that first hundred off by then :icondance

Thanks for the warm welcome! :hug

          Welcome back!

You can do this. Surgery is such a drastic thing and you end up eating a slight variation of Atkins post surgery anyway. So why not just do ATkins from the start?

          Good luck!

Yes I'm eating a smore in the picture, how do you think I got so fat?

            Thanks

Every time I think about going off the diet (which I haven't actually encountered yet only 2 weeks into it) I am going to remind myself of that. I'd rather be eating low carb with an option of adding in other foods later in moderation over surgically altering my body and risking a lifetime of malnutrition or other problems.

            Thanks for the support!
