  • The New Kid...19 , 6 weeks postpartum

Hello all!! My name is Stephanie and as you have guessed, I am new to this forum. I'm 19 years old and had a beautiful baby boy 6 weeks ago via c-section. I'm 5'2 and weigh a whopping 185 pounds. My goal is to weigh 115, and be happy and healthy so that I can be an active part of my sons life. My weight is considered obese for my height and age and that is not healthy, especially when heart disease, cancer, and diabetes runs in my family. I am starting my diet tomorrow and have stocked my frige with all of the right foods. My hubby is very supportive, but it always helps to have the support of people who share the desire to become healthy and thin. Any suggestions, tips, advice would be greatly appreciated! Has anyone out there also had a c-section and trying to lose the infamous roll? Thanks for taking the time to read this...and I look forward to making many new LC friends. :wave :wave :wave :wave

          Hi stephanie :wave
I'm kind of in the same situation as you. I didn't have a c-section but I did have my tubes tied (not by laser either, I was cut open). My son was born almost 3 weeks ago and I am trying to lose that belly. I gained 50 lbs with this pregnancy and I still have about 25 of that to lose.

Congratulations on your new baby, your supportive husband and your strong desire to be healthy for the both of them! That kind of motivation will really help!!

You can do this! I hope you've read THE BOOK (Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 edition)!!

I never had a c-Section, but I did have a total hysterectomy so yes, I had the belly roll at age 45 which is even harder to lose ... but the GREAT NEWS IS, Atkins and exercise will do wonders!! I've had 5 abdominal surgeries and a have a totally flat tummy after 4 years on Atkins and a relentless dedication to exercise, particularly cardiovascular which will help reduce your tummy!!

Wishing you every success! Let us know how you're doing!

            YOU CAN DO IT!

Welcome to the board, and congratulations on the new baby!

Having a supportive spouse is awesome, my DW was doing this with me until she got pregnant again, and it made all the difference in the world.

                Good luck!
