    Hello
My name is Jerry and I have been thinking about getting into the atkins way of life. I tried it once about a year ago for about a week and amazingly I was impressed with the results... I believe in that one week I lost about 8 pounds.. Anyway the taste of bread was deeply missed so I got off it and went about my life. Now I am still in the same position I was then, and am looking to try again.

:wave there are lots of things we think we want more then health and a smaller body. The trick is to learn that what you want isn't always what is best for you.

    Happy low carbing.

Bread was a big thing in my life too. Also salt. I've been bread free and salt free now for over a year and when I look at the results I've had with Atkins....I know I would much rather feel like I do and look like I do now than go back to the taste of those two things.

I know that I can start using low-carb bread, but I don't want to. I like the foods I am eating with my new WAY OF EATING and I will never go back to my old habits. I think for me it was just a matter of setting my priorities and sticking to them.

I wish you all the luck. Atkins definitely works...but you have to work it by the book, DR> ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION, edition 2002. Keep us posted on your progress.

        Welcome to the board, Jerry!

Bread is my tough spot too (and pasta). Look around and make yourself at home.

        Good luck!
