  • New Atkins Moms Forum

    I'd like to start an Atkins Moms forum if there is enough interest. It will be a place that moms can discuss the challenges of meal planning for the entire famly and the challenges of finding time for ourselves, in addition to general talk about our children and families.

    I've set the group so that members must join to read content, for the purpose of allowing members to share pictures of and information about their children if they desire without having them availabe to anyone who happens by.

    I've set up the forum, but it can't be activated until we have 5 members, so I'm not positive what the next step is, but maybe Tom can help me out. In the meanwhile post here and check back if you are interested in joining.
    1st Goal ~ 199 Onderland -Met 3/29/10
    2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
    3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
    Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight
    (Next pic at 187)






    Current Mini Goals:
    1) 35 pounds lost
    2) 40 pounds lost to move to Rung 5
    3) 45 pounds lost to update 15 pound loss picture series

          Good Morning ,

          Getting ready for work here and so gald there is a forum... thanks!!!
          I'm 53, a wife, mother, Grandmother, friend and a preschool teacher. I started my diet exactly 2 weeks ago.. now for a question...

          With my age, does the weight fall off less quickly? Also, I need my "diet mountain dews" does this make induction and ketosis not work well? I stopped coffee.. but need some lift.. as I have lost a child in a car accident and my Dad died 6 weeks ago with pancreatic cancer... I started on Wellbutrin XL yesterday and after I took it .. arrgghh... I ate candy Should I start my induction all over again since I did poorly .. should I wipe out all caffeine.. ? so confused

          Please help?

            You should try to follow the rules. Did you get the book? Read the stickies in our FAQ? They help you figure out what you have to do. If we slip we do just continue so keep going with induction a few more days and then perhaps move into OWL.
            We are limited to three servings of sweetener. So ifyou have to drink that stuff - you should stay within those three servings total for your sweet stuff that day. And you still should drink atleast 64 oz of real clean water.
            I am sorry to hear about your losses and glad you are working on your health.
            Metabolism slows a bit with age and with that it may become harder to shed pounds (but easy to put them on) But people still lose fine. May not win the race but will still make the goal
