  • Hello

Curious as to what projects people are working on. I posted a picture of Rosie in her new coat~~not a happy camper. Also pictures of some fabric postcards & a few blocks made for Quilts of Valor.

I think I read that momtomany1 had numerous half square triangles to press. Curious on what technique you use to do your triangles & what in the world are you making??? Do tell!

    Glenda,
Hi! I just discovered this forum! cool! I'm still working on my son's quilt/quilts. Been making stars, I'm just about done with one of the quilts. I ran out of fabric on the other one and have been searching for a match without much luck! Thanks for sharing your fabulous pictures! So inspiring!

      Re: Hello

I made 144 half square triangles for a bunch of blocks last week. I will post a link to the quilt pattern we are using for a swap later. Very scrappy, very bright! I am about to making fabric postcards later too, I will look at Oz's for inspiration.

What sources have you tried to locate your fabric, Liz?

        Re: Hello

Okay, the 144 HSTs were for this project.

You make star centers, then half square triangles make up the rest of the block. I usually make HSTs in bulk by marking out a grid, sewing and cutting apart. Make 8, 12, or 18 at a time that way. We are on the first 'go around' of the swap, I made 6 sets of these blocks.

I have seen pictures of the blocks some of my swap buddies are making and these are going to be some colorful quilts!

              Re: Hello

Ozlover, I think I saw the book for the Quilts of Valor today in Hobby Lobby. But those are some great blocks.

I got my postcards made for my swap buddies, they are all like this, little variations of course.

I use watercolor paper to back mine.

Make sure she leaves it to you in her will! That is the greatest. I was excited when I bought my Babylock, but a long arm is a few thousand out of my budget.. for now. Still raising kids. But one day!

LOL The look on Rosie's face says it all! I am about to branch out into dog wear, and as I was cruising the 'net looking for patterns and styles, I laughed myself silly at the expressions on the dog's faces. I assumed the humans were gonna pay and pay big for the humiliation.
