  • Was Stalled... but now on the move...

I found that I was drinking too many zero carb sodas I love them. Now I am only drinking water and crystal light and the scale is moving again.

I guess my body is sensitive to the artificial sweeteners that are not Splenda.

That's great! It's funny how we're sensitive to certain things. I know that atificial sweeteners raise blood sugar in some people, so that may have been the cause. I love coke zero, but I don't want to risk it!!! Glad to see you over the stall!

Water is amazing on this diet

I gave up the soda too, im just sticking to water, and no juices at all even with splenda because i just think it might slow me down. I used to love the diet snapples but you never know what might stall you

Good idea to cut out the Crystal Lights too for a bit to reach my next goal on time. Thanks for the boost

Re: Was Stalled... but now on the move...

Crystal Lite and other drinks don't count toward your daily water total -- only PURE water counts....induction is the time to rid yourself of old bad habits -- most of us don't drink water to begin with so it's a bad habit to get rid of by starting to drink water and getting rid of the junk. Don't drink your carbs -- eat them!

Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including:
          Filtered water
          Mineral water
          Spring water
          Tap water

Crystal Lite, sugar free drinks of any kind are not acceptable – PURE water is the only thing that count toward your daily water intake.

After your 64 ounces you can have the following:
Clear broth/bouillon (not all brands; read the label)
          Club soda
Cream, heavy or light (limit to two to three Tablespoons a day; note carb content)
          Decaffeinated coffee or tea*
Diet soda made with sucralose (Splenda); be sure to count the carbs (causes weight stall in many people)
Essence-flavored seltzer (must say "no calories" and should not contain aspartame)
Herb tea (without barley or any fruit sugar added)
Lemon juice or lime juice (note that each contains 2.8 grams carbohydrate per ounce); limit to two to three Tablespoons
*Excessive caffeine may cause unstable blood sugar and should be avoided by those who suspect they are caffeine dependent. Everyone should try to avoid caffeine.
Grain beverages (coffee substitutes) are not allowed. Alcoholic beverages are also not permitted during Induction; those low in carbohydrates are an option, in moderation, in later phases

Re: Was Stalled... but now on the move...

here are the ingredients in crystal light....aspartame is not an allowable sweetner. \\
also, juices are not allowed on induction -- here's the link to acceptable foods.

Ingredients: CITRIC ACID, MALTODEXTRIN, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE, ASPARTAME, MODIFIED CORNSTARCH, RED 40, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, POTASSIUM CITRATE, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM, SALT, ARTIFICIAL COLOR, BLUE 1, BHA (TO HELP PROTECT FLAVOR).

this is nothing but chemicals -- we're suppose to be putting pure whole foods in our bodies, not chemicals. The chemicals are what got us in the state we're in to begin with....
