Last night I stopped at Walgreens on the way home from work and picked up Ketosis test strips. I was only on day 2 and didn't expect to see much in the way of results but sure enough I hit light purple for moderate detection. I was ecstatic.

Now for the bad news. We had a family party last night (yes, on a Tuesday) and the menu included Veal Piccata, Asparagus and cucumber salad and lots of wine. I held strong and avoided the wine but I did have some of the Veal Piccata (which was dredged in flour). I estimate that the Veal was 21.5 carbs alone. The balance of the day, I was very good but I know that despite best efforts, I took a step backwards yesterday.

My penance for indiscretion was a good workout at the gym this morning - lifted weights for 45 minutes and did a routine on the stair master for 30 minutes. I burned 264 calories on the Stairmaster.

I am going to be carbo vigilant today and get back on track.
