OBSERVATIONS FOR THE PAST 3 DAYS: WOW! What a wonderful weekend. Something I should have done a long time ago. This weekend (Sat-Mon) we rented a cabin up in Divide, CO. It was secluded cabin in the woods...close to nature, clean air, wildlife, peaceful…even with two children. Every morning we would get up and take a long walk along the trail in the woods. The fresh air and scenery were wonderful. In the afternoon we took a ride on our 4-wheelers. It was extremely relaxing, what a great way to think about all the things that were on my mind. Between the walks and rides it was very cleansing for me, something I needed. Last night on our way back to the cabin we saw three elk and this morning we woke up to eight deer in the back yard...beautiful. As far as a successful weekend on induction, it was because I was able to pack all our meals and I had ensured I had everything pre-planned. I got back today and weighed myself and I’m down one more pound...what a way to complete my weekend.
I have told you all before that I'm supposed to take my annual PT Test the end of November. My husband just told me he told his parents we would come to visit for 10 days in November. That's 2 weeks before I am scheduled to take my test!!. I know that I will not be able to exercise as intensely while we are there visiting. Upper Michigan is very cold that time of year and I won't be able to run outside because I have cold weather induced asthma. So, I've decided that I need to take my test prior to going on vacation. Tomorrow, I am going to request they schedule my PT test the last week of Oct - first week of November. This is where I am going to need my Adkin's Chums help...keep me motivated and accountable for my eating habits and exercise routine. I have to increase my exercise intake specifically running, pushups, and situps on a daily basis.
Goal for the upcoming week: Exercise - Run three times this week, complete daily pushups and situps. Diet - keep a strict induction diet and lose 1 pound this week.
Goal by 31 Oct 09 - I would like to lose 5-8 pounds by the end of Oct. Many people my say that 5-8 pounds is easy to lose, but it's not for me. It's a lot to lose in a few weeks. It doesn't help when I stress about it too. I need to stay focused and most importantly relaxed.

The Airman's run at my son's graduation was about one of the best moments of my life. I tried to join the Army many years ago as a 19 year old, but was told I needed to lose weight first... and couldn't manage to make it. Your example is so inspiring!!!
