I survived the State Fair...
My husband and I walked and walked up and down row upon row of vendors hawking fried candybar on a stick, fried garlic mashed potatoes on a stick (no, I'm not making this up), fried macaroni and cheese on a stick... there was the smoked turkey leg that looked mysteriously glossy (as in sugar-laden smoke sauce injection)... and the cheese on a stick that was coated with a thick batter... and the dreamy funnel cakes... one vendor did sell a steak dinner and no it wasn't even on a stick... but ran around $10 and came with everything else not even close to low-carb friendly. Hmph.
I did, however, by God's grace disassociate food from the fair experience. Instead I concentrated on the livestock... the exhibits... the rides that I'll one day be able to fit into again... meeting new people. I even changed the address on my voter registration. And we walked until we were utterly pooped out.
It was a hoot. One thing that just amazes me about this WOE is how I don't seem to crave the sugar and starches (which of cóurse go straight to sugar in my body). I'm so very grateful.
Tomorrow I weigh in. Phew...

I love to people watch no matter where I am. The fair or carnival tents to bring out all kinds...needless to say, lots of looking.
Good luck weighing in tomorrow.
I LOVE fairs and it is so wonderful that you were able to get past all those terrible food and be true to your diet. Isn't that just a fabulous feeling??? Can't wait to see how you did on your weigh in!
