11 guests arrived last night including one with this amazing German potato salad and one with a to-die-for chile verde... and this lady is from Mexico and knows what she's doing...

I did swipe some freezable leftovers of her frijoles negros for a later rung.

So I said, "No, thank you." to the potato salad and to the chile verde and to the Braum's ice cream pies. My colleagues didn't insist. They know how hard I've worked to finally start taking care of myself.

For friendly options, I had prepared stir-fried yellow squash, zucchini and onions... a veggie tray of green onions, broccoli florets, and celery with caesar dip. And the roast turned out amazing. For guests I made hummus with pita triangles and baby carrots... I did have a little hummus with my broccoli, jumping a couple rungs but I'm ok, not craving.

I said, "Yes!" to the fellowship and it was awesome to have guests. When hiding in food I don't tend to socialize much. This was a huge step toward freedom from overeating and punishing my body. I said, "Yes!" to a better way of life.

I'm sipping coffee now and frying up some bacon to go with eggs this the first morning of fall break. I slept so well last night and realized this morning it had been a long while since battling nighttime reflux. I remain grateful.
