  • Marscapone Cheese

I have been eating this almost everyday (but staying in the 3-4oz of cheese per day guideline), because with a little bit of splenda it tastes just like really great whipped cream which I can't have yet, and because I thought that I read somewhere that you can have it on Induction. Well, I have hit a plateau, and I'm starting to think this may be the cause... Does anybody know if I can have this love Italian cream cheese style cheese??

Not to be a nosy nellie but when you say "plateau" does this mean you've gone 4 weeks with no loss of pounds or inches? Just curious. I belive marscapone cheese is o.k...it's basically cream cheese from what I understand. Some cheeses such as cheddar...mozarella...etc can cause stalls or slow losing. I'm sure someone with more knowledge about this will be along shortly to give you a more definate answer. If you think it may be the cause you could try cutting it out for a week and see if anything changes.

One of the later Atkins publications categorizes mascarpone as a "fresh cheese", which means it's an OWL phase cheese.

Anyhow, you'll have to look at the package for the ingredients and the carb count. Surprizingly, some of these types of cheeses have higher carb counts than expected.

The packaging says that there is one carb per serving, which is 45ml, so 3 tablespoons... That seems new to me, but since I am new, there is a big chance I am wrong..

Bugaboo - It has been a little over a week, so I know that it's not technically a plateau... I guess it's more of a stall?? Whatever is, it's frustrating!

A "stall" is 4 weeks or more of no loss of weight or inches. Your body just might be getting used to the new you! Give it some time to adjust. If you get really frustrated though feel free to post some menus and the experts here can usually give great advice on how to change things around. However, a week isn't really anything to concern yourself over. Frustrating yes, but just be patient.
