    Hi you guys long time no see!!! I am just wondering if anyone knows the breakdown of Irish moss I can not find it online but I am not as skilled as some folks are at finding these things! I bought it in Florida and love to use it in cooking and for drinks and can not find it anywhere....help?

            Isn't this the stuff that is in McDonalds (and other's) shakes and ice cream to improve the texture? We used to call them seaweed shakes! I've never know any individual to use it -- I've only read about commercial use. Can't wait to hear what you do with it!

              Its also in that carb countdown "milk" that eveyone seems to like so much.

                  Sadie, its in a LOT of things but they disguise it by calling it:

                  ---Synonyms---Carrageen. Chondrus. Carrahan.

                  Especially "carrageen", watch ingredients and see!

                        well it was kind of gross you guys!!! LOL I have to say and I love seaweed ..I made a custard dish out of it with lime and ginger ...sounded quite good until I decided to leave the moss in for added fiber....yuk it looked like maggots and tasted horrible!!!! I can see using it as a thickener for stuff and straining it but to actually eat that crap ...barf...thanks for the help!!!! but I am not posting this recipe that is for sure!!!
