  • What to eat for lunch if you work/are away from home??

I work and having a hard time figuring what to bring to work to eat that has "NO" carbs, while I try to get back on induction. The only thing that I can think of that is portable and no carbs is bringing tuna fish or egg salad in a bowl. Any other suggestions?? Please help! Thanks.

I always take a salad for lunch. I add meat and cheese to it. I also take my breakfast to work which is usually a mini quiche.

I cook some chicken drumsticks the day before, or a boneless chicken breast with a slice of cheese. A small handful of macadamia nuts is always a nice lunch addition (if you are on OWL), and some raw celery, broccoli and cauliflower come in handy.

I often get some cold cuts (turkey, roast beef--make sure it is the good stuff like Boar's Head so no sugars added), add some cheese, a little mayo and roll them up. A few of those is a great lunch.

We have freezer and a microwave here at work. I make big batches of chili and freeze them into those semi-throwaway containers. Then I just bring a few frozen bricks and keep them on hand for when I don't want to buy lunch.

Spicy chicken wings also reheat nicely but I have never tried to freeze them.

Well, even in induction you are allowed 20 grams of carbs per day, so you don't need it to have no carbs.

If you have a microwave availible you can do anything that you would have for dinner. My lunches are usually leftovers from whatever I cooked the night before, I just set aside a second portion and pack it away for lunch the next day.

              lunch

Sometimes I bring a pepperoni stick and some cheese. Just make sure and check to see if there is sugar in the pepperoni and get one that doesn't have it. 0 carbs in that. A can of tuna is good. Hard boiled eggs are good.

I take a small container and put ham with a small amount of mayo because I try to save my carbs for breakfast dinner and snack.

If you roll each inside a romain lettuce leaf, it's even yummier IMO.

Be creative. Make chili, or curried beef, or something else like that. Use leftovers. If you make hamburgers, chicken, or bake some fish, make twice as much and put the rest in the fridge for lunch the next day.

My fave thing to make is chicken salad. I add Mayo, eggs, and something I found is Awesome added in, 2 slices of bacon crumbled! OMG it is so good! I also bring salads with meat & cheese. That way I can have my veggies, cheese, & meat.
I leave a few cans of vienna sausage for days that I forget to bring anything at all.

If you don't have time to cook, you can do bunless .99 cent burgers at any fast food place. Also baked/rotiserie chicken at the grocery store is another fast food atkins/induction freindly way to go :yes . Also alot of fast food places are carring a line of awesome salads!!! :yes I usaully bring steak, chicken, tuna, or ribs to work. I bought a nice grill to cook on, and it doesn't get to mesy (like on a stove)
