  • stevia/date sugar

I for the first time have bought stevia drops. Please recommend how to use it. They also had powdered stivia leaves. Said it does not dissolve so how would you use that? Bake maybe? Also they had dehydrated date sugar with 3 carbs per TBS. Anyone have any experience with that?
    Thanks all.

What brand of drops did you buy?

The date sugar is primarily fructose, aka sugar. I would avoid it.

            Re: stevia/date sugar

I use about 6 drops of stevia liquid for equivalent of 2tsp sugar or a packet of splenda.

I have a question for the guru, though. The other day at Fresh Fields I saw a store brand version of the stevia liquid that was quite a bit cheaper than the Sweet Life version, however it had different ingredients - was mixed in with something called glycerite, I think, instead of water. To make matters more difficult, there was no nutritional information on the bottle, perhaps to keep Fresh Fields from getting in trouble with the FDA for selling stevia as a food. I don't know. Anyway, does anyone know anything about this product? Is it carbless like the other? Does it sweeten the same way?

Nursey, don't worry, I'm not going anywhere

Susan, when you say 'store brand' version, which store brand are you referring to? Is it the 365 brand or the 'Whole Foods' brand? I'll be in Whole Foods tomorrow so I'll take a look at it.

                I think it's the 365 brand. Thanks!
