  • Brook, Do you still have that Taco Seasoning Recipe

I wrote it down a couple years ago, but it has gotten lost in that big hole where your favorite recipe and the other sock alway go. I have been using the one from Dana Carpenters book, but yours is much better.
    Thanks Lynne

Is this the recipe you are looking for? I think it is the one I got awhile back that Brook had posted:

    For 1# hamburger:
    2 tsp chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp dried onion
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp splenda (one packet)
    1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1 dash onion powder

Brown meat with dried onion. Add all other spices when cooked thru with 1/4 to 1/3 cup water. Mix together and cook down.

I like it better than any other I have found.

Are you sure, I thought it had beef boullion in it.

Gahh. That's what I get for skimming and not READING. LOL

          My bad.

          Luna's Taco Bell Seasoning Recipe

          2 teaspoons chili powder
          1 1/2 teaspoons dried onions
          1 1/4 teaspoons salt
          1 teaspoon paprika
          3/4 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
          1 packet splenda
          1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
          1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
          1 dash onion powder

It releases the flavor of the spices best if you put the dried onion in when browning the meat, then add all other spices last with about 1/4 to 1/3 cup water, mix and then cook back down.

Thats it. Thanks a lot. I remembered that I use to double, even triple the recipe and kept it in an old spice jar. It really is THE BEST taco seasoning.
