Last week I found this boneless ham on sale for 10 bucks, which is kind of expensive but with that 10.00 ham, I have had Ham Steaks for one meal, Chef Salad with ham strips, a denver omelet with ham and I found this delicious recipe for Ham and cauliflower with sour cream casserole that I had for both lunch and dinner. Also my DH had ham sand for lunch. I don't think I want to look at ham for awhile but I really got a lot of bang for that 10 bucks if you know what I mean.

Re: Need an idea for a budget menu
First let me say i'm a college student liveing on my own. With that said this is pretty much how I eat and it comes out really cheap. I usually have some eggs and bacon for breakfast. For lunch I'll cook a hamburger, and for dinner's what I'll do is buy whole chickens, roasts and other items like that. I will be able to get quite a few meals out of those. Also I look for ads for discounted products and buy in bulk and freeze for later. Most of the meats will stay good frozen for at least a month. My total price for eating a day ranges from about 3-5 dollars.
Hope that helps
