I haven't looked at the recipe book for awhile but the recipe for flax crackers were on there. I make them in a microwave and although the first few batches either didn't cook enough or burned, I finally got the hang of it and I love them.

Flax Crackers are induction friendly! Here's how I do them...

I can make about 4 medium size crackers from this.

2 tbsp flax meal (2 carbs)
      1 tbsp water
      seasonings you like

Mix all ingredients into a paste. Spoon four equal size blobs onto parchment paper. Moisten fingers and pat and smooth out into craker shapes. I sprinkle a little kosher salt on them and nuke them for 1 1/2 minutes. I top them with cream cheese and chopped olives or cream cheese and smoked salmon. Sometimes for breakfast I will make one larger cracker and sprinkle it with Splenda and cinnamon...like cinnamon toast!

I bought flax crackers at the health food shop today, to see if they were ok or not. I ended up buying a big bag of flax seeds to play with.

they were pretty good.......nice and crunchy, tho a bit pricey. The seed and meal is pretty cheap, though.

How many carbs are the crackers and how many can you eat?

the bag I picked up at the health food store was over $4, so it's probably best to make them on your own, that way you can also control portion size. My bag is gone, so bear with me, but I think that it was 3 or 4 pieces (and these were pretty broken up...and the portion might have been in ounces instead of an item count) and it ended up being 0 carbs because of the fiber.

I made some at home with 2 T flax meal , and sprinkled in a little garlic and butter buds and they were pretty tasty. Better, actually than the weird after-taste the bagged ones had. I also sprinkled splenda and cinnamon on them and that was probably my favorite.

My favorite "cracker" is to take a slice of cheddar (I buy it presliced at Gordons Food Service in a big bag) and nuke it for 1 minute - my microwave is 1100 watts- and it comes out nice and crispy and BIG. For about 1 carb, maybe...I don't think those slices even equals one ounce.
I take one after it's done, break it into about 4 pieces and feel like I'm having a great snack. I also use pepper jack, and that is great too.

I do that with cheese too. I just discovered it last week and I LOVE it.

I am going to try the flax crackers though. I never feel like I get enough fiber.
