  • Anyone for an artichoke

How do you eat your artichokes? I am a purest, boil in salt water and dip in butter. Oh yum
I don't cut off the pointie tips, I wouldn't know how to stuff it, but I love them.

My husband and I steam our artichokes.........He cuts a bit off the top to get the pointy edges off then cut your stem off a little put them in steamer and pour a little lemon juice or lime over the top and steam for about 50 minutes and he makes a dressing out of MAYO - SOUR CREAM - AND A BIT OF RANCH DRESSING mixed together and dip in that. YUMMMMMMM

Mmmmm, artichokes. I have boiled them and steamed them with lemon and just eat them without anything! I always trim the leaves as those barbs can cause some damage. (Maybe I'm just a spazz). Sometimes I'll make a garlic-lemon mayo and dip. Deep fried artichoke hearts (fresh artichoke hearts) are to die for. I usually cut the hearts into halves or quarters depending on their size, dip them in a beaten egg then in parmesan cheese and deep fry. Sometimes I'll do a mixture of 1/3 porkrind 'crumbs' and 2/3 parmesan. I love artichokes! Fresh, frozen or even canned on my salads.
