  • HELP MiniCarb Biscuit Mix / Cobbler Crust??

    I have a box of MiniCarb Bisquit mix, the ones they were selling @ WalMart. Do you think I could sweeten it up to make a decent cobbler crust to feed non LoCarbers?? I have Splenda, Splenda Brown and DiVinci's SF Carmel/Hazelnut and Vanilla??
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    I've never used any of the low carb biscuit mixes so I can't tell you how the final product turns out. But if the mix is like a standard mix, like Bisquick, then you can give it a try.

    I've never been a cobbler fan, but I do make crumbles. I've found that a combo of almond meal whey protein make a decent crumble topping for them.

      One of the ingredients in those low-carb bake mixes that *may* cause weight gain in some folks is wheat gluten. It makes me bloat terribly. I once had a 2 lb weight gain from just one of Atkins Lemon Poppyseed muffins (and I LOVED those muffins). I know others that experienced similar symptoms (and sometimes intestinal disturbances).

        Thanks, The cumble idea sounds wonderful!! and I have both of those in my cupboard. Don't really know what to do w/ them other than cheesecake. I wasted all kinds of ingredients trying to make it work and it was horrible or at least thats what my "oh so kind" friends told me. I was so full after a hamburger, lettuce, tomatos and deviled eggs I never bothered trying it. Should have saved it for my LCarbing work mates... or maybe better yet it was better off in the trash where it belonged. I had to wear jeans to work today and I sure wouldn't want to be bloated!!
