you will need to either get a kitchen scale..
.or judge by looking at your package, if it says for example 5 ounce package, cut it into 5 equal portions and it should be 1 ounce...

If I were you, I'd get a cheap kitchen scale and weight it. I wouldnt trust any other way.

BTW, processes cheese is not allowed on induction

Let me correct some misinformation about processed American cheese. There are three different types of processed American cheese:

        1. Cheese that is labeled "processed American cheese" or just "American cheese" (all American cheese is, by definition, processed) is allowed during Induction. It contains nothing but cheese and emulsifying salts. The processing (basically, melting and forming it) gives it a consistent texture and a relatively low melting point. Kraft Deli Deluxe American is in this category. And McDonald's uses only sharp American cheese on their cheeseburgers.

        2. A food item that is labeled "processed American cheese product" contains as little as 51% cheese. They rest is made up of ingredients like dry milk, whey solids, or anhydrous milkfat. This is not allowed during Induction. Kraft American Singles are in this category.

        3. A food item that is labeled "processed American cheese food" contains less than 51% cheese. This stuff tastes like plastic.

(My grandpa was a cheesemaker. Can you tell?)
