  • Nuts over nuts

What's going on with the carb count on nuts, specifically almonds.

Packages state there is just as much fiber as carbs, making them a good choice. Many other places state they are as high as 3-4 carbs/serv.
    What gives?

I think some might have to do with the specific breed of almond you are dealing with, but some also has to do with manufacturers getting wise about people starting to check carb counts, and using the rounding abilities they have (under .5 can be rounded to the whole number below, over .5 to the number above) to make things look more appealing. Thus some almonds which really have 8.5 grams carbs with 7.5 grams fibre for a net carb count of 1 gram per serving can be rounded to 8 grams carbs with 8 grams fibre for a net count of 0 if the manufacturer wishes.

Also check for differences in serving sizes.
