Real Close to Mashed Taters but its Cauliflower

Boiled cauliflower tonight till tender and mashed..no I whipped it with a hand held beater.

Added 1/2 stick of butter and about 2 cups of parmesean(SP?) cheese.

It tastes closer to real mash potatoes and was darn good I thought.

yep I love faux taters with califlower

if you want a real treat try roasting the hed first and then mashing it with the cheese

Lookin' good Robin!
No matter how hard I try, there's no way i can con my brain or anyone else who's eating it that these are mashed potatoes - they always pick it by the smell of it no matter how much cheese or cream I drown it in LOL so I don't try and just give up completely on the taters idea.

lol, I'm reading a cookbook by Escoffier and he has a cauliflower puree recipe in it. So there really is nothing new under the sun....

Yeah, I have these all the time. They are really good. My family now asks for them instead of mashed potatoes.

Betty, I use half turnips and half cauliflower in my mash---very good too.
