  • Twinlabs triple whey protein fuel

Has anyone here used this before? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to get some of the products used for l/c baking in Sweden and this is the only thing I've seen so far. It contains whey protein isolate, whey protein and whey protein concentrate. It comes in different flavours (chocolate, vanilla and original). Do you think it would be suitable for baking?
    Thanks!

Could be, but you wouldn't be able to use ir as a 1:1 sub for flour or anything. What stage are you in?

I'm only in induction at the moment but am trying to get hold of foods for later use as and when I see them. The only other things I managed to get hold of today were soy flour, flax seed and almonds. Can't find any almond or oat flour anywhere!

Make your own almond flour---just use a coffe grinder to grind them up and "voila" almond flour! :yes

Wow, is it really that simple?! I managed to find a health food shop in Gothenburg today but they didn't have any nut flours at all. If you can just grind the almonds then that's perfect!

There's a good FAQ on nut flours in Low Carb Cooking Lessons.

That whey protein sounds perfect for baking but I'd be very careful how much you use of it, especially your first time. I didn't drink milk for about 3 months and got wickedly lactose intolerant. Apparently if you don't consume much lactose your body stops making the necessary enzyme to break it down.

The reason I bring this up is that my protein powder, vanilla designer whey had me hunched over in pain the first time I had some. I'm better now though.

And, I'm not sure if they included this in the cooking class but almonds will grind better in a food processor if you freeze them first - much less propensity towards clumping.
