What do you put on your table at Thanksgiving that is unique to your family traditions...

for example

I make red chile and cheese enchiladas...


they are stacked Santa Fe style enchilada that have absolutely no tomatoes in them ....and only 12 corn tortillas in the entire pan so for someone on maintenance or the grain rung they are fine


what do you make that is unique?

Well I make a delish 7 layer salad.....

Good leaf lettuce
Good bacon fried and crumbled
Scant layer of chopped onions
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Dressing - Ranch Usually - have used blue cheese
Chopped boiled eggs
And Cracker Black Pepper

It actually calls for peas, but I've omitted them.

It gets rave reviews every year.

I don't make it but we have it every Thanksgiving: A St. Mary's Stuffed Ham. It's a regional speciality found in St. Mary's county Maryland. It's a corned ham that has slits cut into it. The slits are filled with mixture of chopped cooked greens (collard, kale, mustard, watercress, etc.), onion, and hot pepper. The whole thing is wrapped in cheesecloth then boiled and cooled in the boiling liquid. It's served cold or room temperature.

My son and I put jumbo black olives on our fingers and then act out that Bugs Bunny-pretending-to-be-a-symphony-conductor scene. Eventually we eat the olives then put more on. Doest that count as a dish???
