  • Squirrelly Bread

Hi there. We have found this bread called Squirrelly bread and it's made by Silver Hills. It's sprouted grain with over 82% organic ingredients. And, it's made without flour. Here is a list of the ingredients.

Organic whole sprouted wheat, raisin syrup (soluable raisin solids, water), sesame seeds, vital wheat gluten, sunflower seeds, malt syrup, yeast, sea salt.

Nutrition information per 41g (1 slice)
    Energy 120cal
    Protein 6.2g
    Fat 2.2g
    Poly 1.1g
    Mono .5g
    Satu .3g
    Carbs 18.2g
    Suga 1.3g
    Fibre 4.8g

Now, I had a BLT sandwich :sadblinky made of this. (yes, I cheated but I'm right back on track now) and it is the best tasting bread that I've ever had. I'm just wondering about whether or not it would be okay.. for Atkins I mean.. and during what phase?

sprouted grains as ridiculously nutritious. Still grains so I would save for OWL rung 9, and still quite a few carbs per slice. Sounds tasty.

Book, I'm going to try your Flax Bread, for the next time I crave a sandwich. :yes

But, when I'm at my goal weight, I think this may be the only bread we have in the house from now on. Even my DH likes it.

Not a bad choice during the whole grains rung of OWL. I'm a little suspicious of the raisin syrup which is basically concentrated fructose, so I'd suggest eating one slice or half a slice of this treat with some healthy fat to slow absorption of the sugars.

I did Book! Thank you so much. I don't know where they get their looks but I think we're going to have some trouble when their older! lol My son is 21 months younger then my daughter. I can see the young boys now peeking at Tiana and her friends!

I thought about having one slice last night after my sandwich. Heinsight is always 20/20 though.

            Thanks.

When I crave sandwiches I just put the ingredients in a lettuce leaf its really really good and I dont miss the bread at all! you should give it a try. a few nights a go I made turkey, avocado and bacon it was to die for.
p.s I used just a half of an avocado got 2 slices for each wrap and it was plenty.

After subtracting the fiber that bread is 13.4 carbs a slice :yikes That means a sandwich would have have 26.8 carbs for just the bread alone! OUCH! Natures Own makes a delicious low carb bread and a Soy Protein one that only has 7 carbs a slice!
