  • yummy chips!

I made the best chips today...real crunchy, salty chips!

I took pumpkin...the actual vegetable, not canned. and sliced it up relatively thin, I than sprinkled salt on it and let it sit out for a few hours to kind of pull as much water out as possible.

than I took my pumpkin and deep fried it just like I would a potato...and voila...yummy pumpkin chips!

Man, those sound delicious pammie! Might have to try that this weekend since we have 3 days off and lots of time to cook! Did they stay crunchy for a while or did you have to eat them right away like when I do this with jicama?

        sounds good!
I'm curious as to if they stay crunchy too.
I wonder if zucchini will work also?
I have never tried it...but someone told me that ochra makes an awesome crunchy chip. Not a fan though of ochra.

Hmmm, so pumpkin is readily availible in Japan? I don't know why, but I never imagined it being a vegetable popular all over the world.

Turnips can be shaved into thin slices that make excellent crispy chips when fried using the two dip method. (Once essentially a blanching in oil, then frozen, and re-fried in hotter oil to brown and crisp).
