    Re: Valentines Day Treats

Oat bran is found in the breakfast cereal section of most supermarkets. Occasionally, it's in the baking section.

Quaker makes both oat bran and wheat bran cereals, and like Megs mentioned you get it in the hot cereals section of the grocery store. I have both, but will probably use wheat bran as it is much lower carb than oat bran. Ill just grind it in my coffee grinder a bit to make the flakes much more flour-like.

I'm going to make these tonight, so i'll let you guys know how they turn out and hopefully have some pics to post!

          Re: Valentines Day Treats

So I made the george stella brownies. The texture is great, and they're very chocolately. I haven't iced them yet (i just may use whipped cream on them,). My only issue, this is my first time baking with soy flour, and I think I can taste the soy? I wonder if these would be better with a mixture of almond flour and soy flour?

If anyone else tries baking them, let me know what you thought?

The one thing i did change, and not sure if this would have brought out the soy tasted, I used a mixture of stevia and liquid sugar twin to sweeten to bring the carb count down, though this is what i usually bake with.

You will have to let me know how they turn out! I can't say i'll be using soy flour again, good thing the stuff is cheap LOL. They're edible, but they definately look much better than they taste. I gave one to hubby and he didn't mind them..but said there was an aftertaste. Well that should at least stop me from eating the entire pan
