  • Bought a deep fryer

The days of 10 cent chicken wings seem to be gone in my part of the woods. Since I seem to lose 1-1.5 pounds each time I have a meal of chicken wings, I decided it would be most economical to get a deep fryer. Knowing that I could easily find something to deep fry every meal of every day, I have vowed that this will be a week-end treat only. tee hee.
Anyway, I did some chicken wings with butter and Frank's Red Hot and they were amazing.
The other thing I desperately wanted was some deep fried mushrooms. I ground some golden flax seeds in my new spice grinder (thanks for the idea, Book!) and rolled the mushrooms in an eggwash and then the flax meal. WOW :yikes They were beyond fantastic!!!!
I will let you know of any other deep fried delights!

I bought my deep fryer about 2 weeks ago and make my wings the same as you do. Butter and franks. I like them really crispy.

I just tried deep fried fresh green beans! They were delicious. A little salt and waa laa, french fries. But better than french fries. I bet kids would even eat them with a little mayo/garlic dip or faux ketsup. Yummy. Might just have them again tonight.

That is why you need to learn to fix them yourself.

Brocolli and cauliflower -- fixed the same way -- dip in an egg/water mixture, then dip in a ground pork rinds/parm. cheese mixture and deep fry. You don't really have to coat them thoroughly, just get the "flowerette" part coated. Yum yum and more yum! We also like deep fried zucchini - dipped in the same mixtures. I have eggplant almost ready in the garden and was thinking of trying those as well.

Wow JoanOh, I never thought of cauliflower. I just happen to have some Think Ill try it again tonight
Yeah the Green Beans are fresh. I bet the frozen ones would work, but you would need to thaw and dry them out.
