Trader Joes. A little pricey, but generally worth it. If you have a coffee grinder you can also make your own.

In my area Giant and Shoppers Food Warehouse sell the Bob's Redmill brand. If you don't have these stores around, you can buy blanched raw almonds or whole raw almonds (if you don't mind the dark color of the almond skin), toss them into a food processor and blend into a fine powder. It's a little less expensive grinding your own, because you can buy large bags of almonds at most warehouse type stores.

Okay thanks. I don't have Trader Joes around but I do have Shoppers and Giant, but I didn't see them there. I checked by the organic foods and the the redular foods and I didn't see that brand! That stinks!! LOL So I can just buy a food processor, and a large bad of plain almonds and that's it. I have a BF's card, and I can invest in a nice food processor. That'll save a lot of money. Hmmm, now to get a food processor!!! Any suggestions as to which type? Are they very expensive?

At Shoppers and Giant they are in the organic/natural foods aisle and lumped together with the Bob's Redmill Oatmeal, etc. Bob's Redmill products have their own display in both stores.

You can also use a coffee grinder, most of them are less than $10.

IMHO the coffee grinder will make a finer flour/meal. Plus it is cheaper!

If you have a whole foods, they carry it! And it is cheaper to buy the preground than the whole almonds! It's a little over 4 dollars a pound and its in the bulk section where you scoop your own!

Here you scoop your own in the bulk section at WholeFoods. They also have bulk stuff at Harris Teeter but they are more expensive.
