I hope that I am not the only person who loves sashimi. Just came back from lunch at a Japanese restaurant in town that just outdid themselves. It was so good and I feel like I cheated big time but everything was legal and delicious.

Sashimi works very well with wasabi mayonnaise. I find that a sashimi meal alone can be too high in protein and too low in fat to balance well on Atkins.
Liberal use of goodies like wasabi mayo or hand rolls made with "sashimi salad" mixes involving mayonnaise keeps the blood sugar in check and makes you feel more full and satisfied. Traditional Japanese mayo has sugar in it, so bring your own.

I like mixing chopped scallops, mayo and crunchy fish eggs and putting a heaping spoonful into a nori cone as a hand roll. Chopped yellowtail, mayo, hot sauce and crunchy seaweed (find some without sugar) is also delish.

It was an exciting meal as the sashimi was sitting on beds of shredded diakon and that has a crisp fresh taste, and legal. Also they served tidbits of vegetable dishes and tofu dishes. It was a wild meal and I enjoyed it but it also cost an arm and a leg so it aint gonna happen often. I made a dipping sauce with just the soy sauce and the wasabe. OMG it was good, hot, but good

What is sashimi? Is it raw?
I will stay on my diet. I will get healthy and lose weight. There is nothing I could eat or drink that tastes as good as how I feel at this moment on this WOE ~ nothing!

Yeap, the plate had tuna, snapper, shrimp (cooked) two white fish that I couldn't tell what they were, salmon and squid I think.
