Has anyone tried the chili recipe here -> http://www.atkins.com/recipes/s/super-chili-bowl-825

It seems to have a very short cooking time... want to try it tonight but thought chili was a more lengthy cooking procedure..

    Re: Atkins chili

There's a two-step chili recipe in the back of the Atkins' book that is wonderful. It is very easy to make...have you ever tried that one? (I sometimes use ground beef and alternate with stew meat.)

      Re: Atkins chili

that sounds good and chiles like anything some are for long cooking and others are for sort cooking ..I would use real ground red chile however instead of using the jared chile powder ... if you have a grocer that has a good Hispanic section you can find it there ...
I do not use tomatoes in chile but I am sure it is good...the recipe sounds right...ok I would leave out the cinnamon ...and add a touch of sage ..

LOL Heidi can't leave a recipe alone.
It sounds fine. I don't know if I would do the broiler thing, just put the cheese on top and let it melt.
LOL, I guess Im learning from Heidi. Oh maybe a little sour cream on top and some green onions

toss a hand full of black olives on it and put the entire thing on some shredded lettuce...

instead of putting tomatoes in the chile I would put fresh ones on top ....hmmmm

So what was the carb count? 7 per serving? Wanted to make sure I was reading that right.

I made it and it was fairly boring flavour-wise.. had faux rice as a side. It looked pretty but needed spicing up.
I threw some kidney beans in my boyfriends portion and he had it over fries... looked so good... lol.
