  • strawberry omelet :) (berry rung)

I am jonesing for fresh berries now and the strawberries coming up from California right now are really good this year! nice, sweet and juicy ...so being the strange person I am ...I make omelets out of berries ..does anyone else do this?

for one my size omelet I use
3 large eggs just broken up not beaten with a fork
    3 strawberries sliced
    1 oz cream cheese

take a small skillet and add some oil pour your egges in ...cook rotating until almost ready to flip then drop the cream cheese and strawberries or other berry in ...flip for a min then put on your plate ...you could add a splenda to the strawberries if you like it sweeter but these are so good I can not imagine needing to...

GO CALIFORNIA whatever you are doing with the strawberries this year keep it up...

Fruit omelettes are delicious. When you can add non-berry fruits to your diet, try those fruits in omelettes. What I do for apples and peaches is to cut the fruit into slices, heat a frying pan, melt butter and let the butter cook until it's stopped bubbling, then add the fruit. Saute the fruit until it's warmed through, then add a tablespoon of brandy (or rum), let that simmer a bit (if you're a pyromaniac, you can light the alcohol with a match and let it flambe) Remove the fruit from the pan and follow Heidi's recipe.

If you add cream and splenda to the eggs, it will thin out, and then you'd have a fruit crepe.

You're right. The strawberries are INCREDIBLE this year.

Didn't think of flaming the strawberries?????

I bet something with a ctirus flavor, like Grand Marnier or Triple Sec, would be lovely with strawberries.

I'm going to have to try this for breakfast tomorrow too. Nothing's gonna flame at my house though!
