Is there anywhere other than the internet to get the Atkins Baking Mix? Also, is there something that can substitute this? Just wondering cause i finally got my book and was looking through the recipes and a lot call for this ingredient. I did see it on the Atkins website, but was wondering if it were anywhere else. Thanks!

    Re: Atkins Baking Mix

I'm not sure if the Bake Mix is still available in grocery stores anymore.

Bake mix substitutions really depends on the recipe and how the bake mix is being used. Whey or Soy protein isolate powders can be used as a sub in some baking recipes. Or those powders in combo with a nut flour can be used too.

thanks so much. I was looking around today in the store and all i found was a wheat flour. It did not have too many carbs in it but i was not about to get it until i knew the facts.

We still have it in stores around here, but there's an ingredient in it that (I think) makes me sick. If you take a look at some other recipe sites others have the substitution mix.

Not sure if you have one in your area, but I happened upon the bake mix at a Kroger store. I was really surprised that the smaller grocery store in the area carried that. Then as I looked around more, I kept finding so many other great ingredients.

we have many faux bake mix recipes in our data base. Naja has complied several in the low carb cooking school topics. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...highlight=bake

all bake mix is is a low carb version of bisquic we have a "flour" be it ground nuts or a protein isolate ( no real flours allowed till OWL rung 9) and a levening agent like baking powder mixed in the right amounts and you got bake mix.

have fun making your own and using it when you get to the rung of OWl your ingredients are safe for.

Thanks to everyone that replyed to me. I don't have a Kroger store around here, but maybe another smaller market will have it. I will also give that substitution a try. I was not sure if there was one, but i thought there might of been cause there is a substitution for everything around here! LOL.

if you use our data base of recipes you can even find what you want to make that doesn't use bake mix. just use the search and have fun. or type a topic in the recipe request section and tell us what you want to make we got lots of great cooks here.
