you can not imagine how much it means to me to see my huge crop of chives all freshly sprouted and ready to start cutting...

lets talk about chives...other than garnish what do you do with them?

I chop them along with other fresh herbs and mix them into beaten egg. I either scramble them or I make a Spanish-style tortilla.

Put them in cream cheese! Yummm. OR with a little garlic into mashed cauliflower

I used to always use them to put into my twice baked potatos. I dry mine and just throw them into random things when I'm cooking and need a little more flavor. No special recipes here.

What about using the chives in a pesto recipe? I bet it would be fab with fish or chicken.

Or make a chive oil condiment?

ok chive oil pesto I just cleaned off the last of my garlic ..I actually grew enough to take me through until May I bet this past year!!! so it will be chilve and garlic...I will only make what I can use however because you do not want to store raw garlic in oil...ever ...or you could get really really sick!
