    Re: velveeta question

I switched from Velveeta to Ragu's extra cheesy pasta sauce. Works just as well and needs no melting!

Yea, Ragu makes the Carb Options cheese sauce, it does have less carbs, but its still made out of just about everything except real cheese! I do use it occassionally though and its pretty good. I don't think I'd put it in eggs though, its way too watery for that.

Aren't we supposed to stay away from processed cheese? Is it like Kraft slices but in solid form?

Yes, its not like Kraft cheese if you're talking about Kraft American Cheese Slices, it comes in a big block and its "processed cheese food" LOL if you can figure that one out. You should stay away from it, especially on Induction but I think its o.k. for someone on maintenance to have it occassionally.

Oh. (About the maintenance thing). We have something here called Cheez Whiz. Do you have it? It comes in a jar and people stuff it into celery or spread it on toast. It's called process cheese food. Which in and of itself sounds too disgusting to contemplate. However, I have seen and tasted it close up (the kids wanted it once, for some reason) and I can confirm that this particular "cheese food" is gross. But to each his own, right?

Oh Jimmie. You are so cute. I know you wouldn't eat it if you weren't supposed to. That's why I was wondering. And now I know. Now go eat some Velveeta, K?

                  Re: velveeta question

cheese whiz is nasty. now someone else might be chiming in saying how great a product it is but, for me, cheeze whiz is nasty.

i had a slice of the velveeta yesterday, in my eggs. that will be it for this week. today is a peanut butter sandwich with some yogurt or maybe some pumpkin..... no processed cheese for me today!

                    Re: velveeta question

LOL Jimmie! We always have a block of Velveeta in our fridge! John grew up with it and its his favorite for scrambled eggs and grilled cheese sandwiches! Brings back his childhood memories I guess! But even he doesn't eat it more than once a week or even less! You enjoy your velveeta and you pb sandwich! you earned it miss Goalie!

                      thank you thank you! lol
hey, i have to tell you this, my youngest kid loves velveeta! i would buy the big block of it and he would cut off a slab every day after school. by the end of the week, when i wanted to melt it over a veggie or have cheese sandwiches and soup, there would be no more velveeta! i had to start buying 2 boxes, one for me to cook with and one for him. when his ran out, oh well! we even bought him a box of his own for christmas one time! lol he loved it! lololol

That's funny! I never thought it tasted good like that! It's good melted but not just a cold slice, funny thing is, even Gizzie won't eat it cold! LOL she turns her nose up and walks away!
