This is a great thread. I feel like I've learned a lot and can make a really informed purchase once I finish working thru my Costco sized bag of the puffed Splenda.

LookingForward, I chew a gum that uses Xylitol; I think it's quite good. It never occured to me to hunt it down and bake with it!

Wow!!! I love the whole idea of me being able to have my tea back with no added carbs. Or any other drinks, of course caffiene free. I'm just sitting here thinking about all of the possibilities. And the fact that I'm on extended induction and won't have to add the carbs to my 20 a day total, I am extra excited.

I've been using the sweetzfree for about a week now, and it's REALLY great! I LOVE having my decaff coffee with it and not having to waste carbs on the Splenda. The only thing I'd mention is it takes some getting used to, it's really hard to believe that two DROPS are the same as a tablespoon of sugar, but it's true. Very very sweet stuff. And tastes great, actually I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me, but it SEEMS to have less of an aftertaste, to me, than the bulked up Splenda has. But maybe I'm just getting used to the taste of sucralose.

If you are prepared to use Saccharine rather than Sucralose (Both are Atkins legal), then you have an alternative - liquid Hermesetas.

In the UK it is available at about two days notcie by special order from an independent chemist. Boots does not stock it.

I cannot advise on the US market.

Liquid Hermesitas has no carb overhead, and is a sweetner that is not degraded by heat.

Do notice that some Hermesetas products contain Aspartame and are therefore not permitted by Atkins, but Hermesetas Liquid is fine.

I purchased a 2oz bottle of Sweetzfree about 5 months ago. I use it daily for my coffee and use it to sweeten various things I cook. After 5 months I still have about 1/3 of a bottle left. The stuff is liquid gold!

So far as comparing it to things like davinci syrups, IMHO there is no comparison. 3 drops of liquid splenda will do what 2-3 tbsps of davincis will do.

I've just placed my order this morning, so I'm able to go back and enjoy my iced tea again. And the fact that I can carry it in my purse is the best thing ever.

I love the Sweetzfree stuff too! I mix it with Erythritol in all my cheesecakes and pumpkin concoctions and it's wonderful! It's so incredibly concentrated that it lasts and lasts. My 2-oz. bottle probably lasted me almost a year and I use a few drops almost every day. It's well worth the money.

Brook, I totally agree. I also bought a 2 oz. bottle and I've used it every day for a week, sometimes more than once, and it looks like the bottle is still completely full. I just LOVE it.

As for the saccharine, Labarum, I find that the taste is quite nasty to my taste buds, but for those who can eat it that sounds like a very good option. I didn't know it was unaffected by heat, that makes it ideal for cooking.

Should have asked before I ordered, just placed the order and got the l oz. size. Oh well, since I haven't tried it before guess this is better and I will know to order the larger size next time. Are they quick on delivery?

Yes, I was surprised how fast I got mine, I think it was only 2 days after I ordered it. MAYBE 3, but really fast either way.

Have you guys tried the Liquid Stevia? I just got some last week, and I love it! I will try the sweetzfree when the Stevia runs out. I love the fact that I won't have anymore 'wasted' carbs with my liquid sweeteners. I also got a large bottle of Vanilla Davinci, and I am enjoying that, too. I love all the shared info on this site!
