  • Apologies folks - cleaning up the mess from Frances

I was right in the path of the hurricane, and while I'm okay aside from a nasty head cold, I have no Net access at home and my neighborhood is a disaster zone. There is a hole in my roof. Life is not fun at the moment. I'm lucky to have my power and water back as many of my neighbors have neither.

I hope to be back participating in these forums when things are back to some semblance of normality again. It's a mess over here, folks. Sorry to abandon you guys, but the other foodie mods have been doing a stellar job keeping the place looking nice and I know they will continue to do so while we here in Florida pick up the pieces of our lives post-hurricane.

Just a quick update in the time I have.

I'm still cleaning up from Frances, and now it looks like Jeanne stands a pretty good chance of slamming into us on the East Coast. My roof is still a mess and there is structural damage. I will probably be mostly MIA until this situation is resolved.

I appreciate the quality work the other foodie mods are doing to keep this place looking nice. I'm sorry I can't be around more often. I'll be back on the board with more time to spare when hurricane season blows over.

Boy it sucks to be in Florida right about now. If you're thinking of moving here, or visiting during hurricane season, don't. The scientists are saying that this may be only the beginning of some really rough storm years ahead.
