  • Low Carb Cooking mag by Better Homes and Gardens

A co-worker picked up a copy during lunch break. I've thumbed through it and it looks pretty good. All recipes are below 10 net carbs, not alot of franken-gredients either. There are 208 recipes from appetizers to eggs and cheese to main dishes. Some recipes aren't Induction friendly, but they can be modified....The garlic-grilled chicken recipe looks good, so does the pepper-lime chicken.

Anyhow, I'm a hopeles cookbook junkie, so I'm always looking through cookbooks and things like that.

Is it a magazine or an actual book?

It's a magazine. I stopped at a grocery store last night to pick up a copy. It was with the other magazines at the check out.

I took a closer look at the recipes. Some of them do use flour as a thickener or coating and some use sugar, but again, they can be subsituted with legal ingredients.

Well since we are the masters of substitutions should be no problem to adapt them! :yes

I love new recipes but I've also found that I can just use my old regular cookbooks and make substitutions w/o having to go out and buy any special new low carb ones...although I'd love to, just can't afford it and I already have tons of cook books!

I do the same thing with my cookbooks (and ones I borrow from the library). I'm always thumbing through the books to find things that are already low carb or can be adapted to low carb. I mainly use fitday to figure out the carbs for the recipes I adapted. The only low carb cookbook I purchased was the Dana Carpender one.

Yea, I'll probably end up buying at least one low carb book eventually, but the few times I've taken the time to look thru them at the book store, no single one really jumped out at me and said "buy me buy me" I still look thru them though, I could hang out in a bookstore all day long just looking!
