  • does anyone hunt mushrooms?

I am feeling the nip in the air and my adrenalin is high...I am a total mushroom lover and hunter...any kindreds want to share?.... because the chanterelle season is almost upon us!!!

I'm with you. Ever since I spent a fall in France and watched everyone out hunting mushrooms with their families I've been hooked. Of course, there you can take your mushrooms to a pharmacist who will tell you if you've gotten any bad ones in the bunch.

I wish I knew more about mushrooms. I keep meaing to get to one of the monthly meetings of the local mycological society but I never have.

Chantrelles are pretty recognizable though. And one of the best things about Fall, especially in the Northwest.

LOL! Yes, it's important to keep it under your cap. I'm sure you know you can always tell if they're going to be fun guys.

that is so funny ...my son when he was little ate mushrooms then one day turned one over and noticed the vents...he lost it was so grossed out something like a veggie had vents that he never ate one again...he will hunt them (and yes be quiet or they take off!) and cook them ...he is a remarkable chef...no bragging from momma here...but will not eat them to this day!!!!
