      so back to bitttchin .....

The first words out of my mother in law when I met her (I was three months pregnant btw) were "my son can have a 1000 wives but only one mother"

then her second words were "I will be counting back the months when that baby is born"

and then finally "you put raw zucchini in this salad now we are all going to get worms"

      well my "get even"?

      1. a year we were married she ran off with her long time lover!!!

      2. I carried my first born a month over his due date

      3. If I have one I still put raw zucchini in my salad

                  Re: Bitchiing In The Kitchen

Ok, my only bitchin in the kitchen is this....

My mother came to visit. I made breakfast lunch and dinner for her. She never complains about my cooking. I'm no chef, but I do alright. The last night she stayed with us, we ran all over town all day, came back late, I cooked dinner. I was totally wiped out. I crashed on the couch to watch a movie with her and my hubby and she says "You're not going to leave those dirty dishes in the sink are you????"

OMG, this is my house, it's not a mess, I've cooked and cleaned and cooked and cleaned all week, and you never lifted a finger. The one night I decide I'm going to watch TV before I put the dishes in the dishwasher, you're going to hassle me??

                  Ok, enough of that...

my only other bitchin is this...

My Mother-In-Law will have dinner at my house, ask for the recipe for whatever I made because her and FIL liked it. She'll hack the recipe to pieces, and she's definitely not a good enough cook to be "modifying" recipes. When no one likes dinner she tells them that it's my recipe! But whatever she made isn't anything like the recipe I gave her. LOL

                    Re: Bitchiing In The Kitchen

people are NOT supposed to leave dishes in the sink all night? wow that is why I thought I had the sink in the first place...either there or heaped on the counter...I am a morning person and I do not want company to pick up even one dish while I am hostess ....

if I did not leave the dishes I would never have time with my guests

You should have heard the lectures I got the year I brought the drinks!

Megs, I think I if I were you, I'd consider divorcing my family. LOL Amazingly enough, they sound worse than mine.

A friend once told me that friends are God's way of apologizing for your relatives.

It's not everyone, it's just a few people---who I only see once or twice a year.

Ok, my ***** is a bit different. I hate getting the kitchen all cleaned, and someone wants to cook something or 'forgot' to bring their dishes out!!! That makes me freakin crazy!!! My DS is famous for leaving dirty dishes in his room or my DH will want grilled cheese right after I get the kitchen cleaned. Why do they do that?!?!?
