  • Like a good friend...

I'm warning you, guys. This post is going to sound really weird.

So I'm home alone today (DH is working until nearly 10 tonight) catching up on some end-of-the-semester reports/projects and I was starting to feel kinda lonely... I decided to figure out what I'm going to make for dinner. They had an amazing deal on those huge pork loins at this local farming grocery store I go to sometimes... I had cut it into 3 pieces and frozen it (we have a rather small slow cooker). So I took out a piece of this pork loin and put it in my slow cooker with 1/4 cup of water; then I put a cut-up onion, a ridiculous amount of minced garlic, italian seasoning, Montreal Steak Seasoning (mostly coarse salt and black pepper), and a smidge of ginger. Pretty simple...

Well here's the weird part: I'm sitting here and the smell is just starting to spread through the apartment (soo yummy). And... it's like I've got a friend with me... so weird... I don't feel lonely anymore. I guess the smell of something cooking in the crockpot is like the smell of company.

    Or something. lol

I don't know if anyone else has experienced it, but it's quite peculiar.
No stats. Not weighing anymore ever. Will post "before and after" pictures when I want to. The end.

    Vigilance, not perfection.

I associate certain food with good memories, so makes perfect sense to me.
