Oh no! The recipe didn't come out like marzipan?

I'm thinking I'll have to do some wild experimentation in the kitchen.

Interestingly (is that a word? LOL) I love almonds but hate marzipan. Though it may be heriditary, my mother used to love peanuts but hated peanut butter.

            Re: Marzipan!

Here's a simplified UK LC recipe I found on the web that doesn't have coconut... I think I might try this to see how it goes... I'd go with stevia as a sweetener (as by your recommendation)--plus, from what I've heard about its flavor, it seems like it would be good in marzipan (I'm a stevia virgin! ).

            Marzipan

            Ingredients
1 egg white (Resconstituted dried is fine if you worry about using raw egg) 2 tsp (or 1 packet) sweetener
2- 3 drops of almond extract
            About 100g ground almonds

            Method
Mix all the liquid together, then add enough ground almond to make a nice thick paste.

              Re: Marzipan!

I remember a long time ago, I read a recipe for a 'faux-marzipan'. It was made from mashed potatoes, sugar and almond extract. I never tried it, but I thought it was interesting....

                  Re: Marzipan!

I know I like the way it looks way more than I like the way it tastes to be honest..but I know how it is supposed to taste and really ...Mogs I know it is not your personal recipe so you won't be offended when I say that this does not really taste like marzipan ..at all not even texture wise....
