  • Anybody ever try frying lc tortillas?

If so, how'd they do? I miss crunchy things and can't have too much lettuce because it bothers my stomach so much, so I was thinking about cutting some low carb tortillas into triangles and frying them. I just wondered if it would even work.

I haven't had much luck, they tend to just suck up the oil instead of getting nice and golden crispy like regular tortillas. You'd be better off, if you're looking for chips, frying some cheese like we do for tacos and then breaking it up into chips. Also, make sure you're on the proper rung for the ingredients in those low carb tortillas! If they contain grains then you need to be at the grain rung to have them!

I've done it before. It wasn't bad, the chips kind of got "puffy" more than crisp. You can also pan fry them in some butter and make quesadillas. You could always try pork rinds or there are some LC tortilla chips out there if you want some crunch.

Crunch-- I bake or nuke some turkey pepperoni until it curls up and gets crispy .. It is good for a crunchy salty treat!!! Sometimes even melt cheese on them for the illusion of pizza!!

HAve you tried other crunchy veggies like jicama, radishes or the others on the Acceptable Foods list?

I have fried them to make quesadilas and it doesn't quite get the same crunchy outer layer. They weren't too bad, but definitely not the same as full carb variety.

                Maybe baking them would work?
