Can anybody offer any suggestions for jicama? When I would eat it in Mexico it tasted good without anything added. Here in the US, when I buy jicama it just doesn't taste the same. It needs flavor or something. I tried spinkling chile powder and chile pepper (not at the same time) to it but it just wasn't the same. Any ideas?

Re: ways to eat Jicama
I squirt alittle lime juice on my jicama or I use it as 'chips' for guacamole or as 'crackers' for tuna salad.~Megs~

Re: ways to eat Jicama
there is a recipe for making mock oatmeal out of it and mock baked apples in the recipe section
I love jicama slaw and jicama just plain it is sweet like an apple and juicy and crisp but I've never had mexican jicama to compare it too.by the book atkinseer

Re: ways to eat Jicama
I think that even with the lime juice and chili powder it won't be as good as in Mexico. Mexican Limon's are much tastier than the limes we get here IMO. But I still like them this way, just not quite as tasty!

Re: ways to eat Jicama
Could this be nuked and then cinnamon added to it like you would an apple? Haven't found them in the supermarket yet, but hopefully soon.
