I've fallen in love with Carbquik, but is there any further info confirming its seemingly miraculous low-carb properties? I'm afraid to use it all the time, because "if it's too good to be true, it often isn't". Anybody has any input?

Re: Is Carbquik for real?
I've never used it so I can't give you any weight loss/maintenance difficulties from using the product. But I'm sure the regulars who do use it will be along with their opinions.

Re: Is Carbquik for real?
I've used it a couple of times (a while ago). Didn't notice any adverse effects. Seems to be about the best low carb flour around. Before and after:

Re: Is Carbquik for real?
Lots of people use it here...I've heard some positive and negative things about it. I think it's one of those "See how it affects you" kinds of things.Higgies

Re: Is Carbquik for real?
I have it but have only used it a few times as well. I guess I am not missing the things that I can have with it as much as I thought LOL.BARB

Re: Is Carbquik for real?
I haven't had adverse effect -- that I know of. But I'm like you, Barb. I bought the stuff thinking I'd use it all the time, but I think I've used it maybe two or three times. I think I got it when I was having a battered fish craving, but by the time the order came the craving was gone. Hmmm ... I never did make that recipe.
And, in my opinion, I started Atkins to break my addiction to pancakes and the like, so I try not to give in to substitutes for the things that made me fat.
Bottom line: the stuff's good. But it's kind of like that Dreamfields pasta in my mind. I just don't trust the math, and I don't trust myself ... so it's not a regular thing.female, 33, 5'2"

Re: Is Carbquik for real?
Barbde and H2ohhh... you both hit the nail on the head. We think we'll use the stuff all the time, then, when we're finally able to make things with low carb substitutes they suddenly don't seem so important any more.
I have a ghastly time here, getting things (customs and horrid courier costs) and that tends to make me even more 'desperate' to have them in my cupboard just in case...but just in case of what? When the stuff arrives I hardly use it. There are so many other wonderful things we can have. And yes... dreamfields pasta isn't a regular for me either. Like you I'm not too easy with what they don't tell us about how it works! Before and after:
