Am I the only one that is TERRIFIED of a crock pot?
I am really anal about shutting things off when I leave the house.
I think I have some sort of OCD..I walk in and out of every room just to make sure I didn't forget to shut anything off.
I worst fear in life is FIRE. For some reason I feel that almost anything can cause a fire and then my puppy will not survive.

            I know...don't say it...I got issues! lmao!!

              :yes Yep issues. LOL

How about plugging it in outside? I do that with my dehydrator, I put it out on the porch --not because I'm afraid of fire, but because I don't like my house to smell like beef jerky for a week after I make it, I use too much garlic LOL

I actually never saw a crock pot!

until I was in my 20's!!! I use a ceramic coated dutch oven with the oven turned to low....and yeah I am afraid of fire so I set a timer to turn the oven off and have a kid check by during the day if no one is there..you are not crazy!

Lamb shanks are perfect for the crock pot! Just leave them whole!.. they do well with long slow cooking add some whole pepper corns too instead of cracking them they soften and add a nice bite...with the greens it is amazing! onions, garlic, lamb shanks (brown together in plenty of olive oil) then dump in the crock pot with the greens ..some wine if you have it...I add a knorr cube like chicken just for background flavor...not too much water and salt ..I think that is it unless you find something else to add!!! then when you serve it sprinkle the top with feta ..calamata olives fresh herbs......wow.....can I come and eat at your house tonight!!???!!......
