  • Squash Question

    Someone gave us some squash I have never seen before. They are white shaped like a flower. Any ideas or have a site that shows pictures?

          Is this it? This is called petit pan squash or patty pan squash. I just found it. I've never used it.

              OK I cannot find a crb count. Who has an online carb counter addy. Fitday does not know and all info on squash does not list carbs.

                This should help! I just found it.

                This recipe serves: 6
                Preparation time: 5 minutes
                Cooking time: 10 minutes


                Ingredients
                1 pound patty pan squash, trimmed and halved
                2 teaspoons olive oil
                kosher salt to taste

                Cooking Instructions
                1. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
                2. Toss the squash, olive oil and salt together. Spread the squash out on a baking sheet in a single layer.
                3. Roast the squash on the top rack of the oven until they are tender when pierced with a knife, about 10 minutes.

                Serving size: 1/2 cup or 4 halves

                  WOW real low carb. Too bad I wont get it soon. Grill ran out of gas before dinner was done and I only have a toaster oven so by the time the ribs were done noone cared about vegis. I put some in the George Forman and the rest I will deal with tomorrow.
