Re: Frozen Spinach... anybody REALLY know?
Hmm. is that 1 1/2 cups cooked spinach?Originally posted by MotherOfGizmoBarb, so far this is the only info I've found
1 pound cooked spinach = 1 1/2 cups
But I'm still searching!
That could be helpful. Except I don't have any frozen spinach to look at the serving sizes. Have to go to the grocery store later though, so that may work out! Thanks for looking Mog!BARB

Re: Frozen Spinach... anybody REALLY know?
Yeah, but the frozen spinach is already cooked and does not weigh the same as the fresh. Fresh spinach cooks down to nothing! LOL.Originally posted by lil_Buddy16 oz = 1 lb
So 2 9oz packages is a little over a lb.BARB

Re: Frozen Spinach... anybody REALLY know?
This is just a math problem.
1. weigh out 1 pound fresh spinach.
2. boil it
3. drain it
4. weigh it again in oz.
Divide 9 oz by that weight and multiply by 16 to get amount in pounds needed.

Re: Frozen Spinach... anybody REALLY know?
OK, my 9 oz bag says
Serving size about 4 cups raw
Servings per container about 3
So my 9oz bag would be 12 cups.
But when I cook it down it is no where near the amount of spinach in a 9 or 10 oz frozen box of spinach??
